Q/ What have the following players got in common: G.Lamont, P.Sutton, M.Cooper, C.Smith, P.Jacobs, P.Morrish, D.Parr and A.Watson?
A/ They were all eliminated from this years Christmas Snooker Knock-Out, on a Black Ball fight!
But the man who produced the sparkle when it mattered, was the new Christmas Snooker Champion for 2016, Jason Smith. This years pairings saw some exciting even ties, with games being decided on the final black ball. Jason, who ironically lost on the black in last years final, played extremely well during this tournament and his potting prowess saw him lift the trophy for the first time! The final was contested with Jason outpotting the inform Graham Lamont, who had previously edged out last years winner Mark Cooper in the Semi and it was Jason who produced the better play in a long tactical finale.
The following players received prizes in this years competition:- Quarter finalists: C.Pearson, D.Hughes, C.Smith, H.Rees. Semi-finalist: P.Sutton + M.Cooper. Runner-Up: G.Lamont. Winner: Jason Smith.
Many thanks to all that took part in this years competition and the feastive sportsmanship shown for rearranging games to suit opponents.
The next snooker competition will be the "Flying Snooker Tournament" hosted by the quick witted "Pete Jacobs" and accompanied by an even better Hotpot Super. The entry form will be on display on the noticeboard by the bar and this one night competition will be played in early February 2017.    D.P.
